Amidst all of the recreational activities that have become Memorial Day traditions as we (un)officially welcome summertime, the people of Broken Arrow have not lost sight of what this day of remembrance is all about.
The veterans of VFW Post 10887 have decorated Veterans Park (MAP). for Memorial Day. We have the history of the Woman’s War Memorial in that park HERE.

The post, along with local Vietnam Veterans, other area veterans groups and private citizens have decorated the Vietnam Memorial in Broken Arrow (MAP).

Floral Haven Cemetary (MAP) is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its Avenue of Flags. The Veterans Field of Honor (a small part of which is pictured below) is decorated by the Boy Scouts of America, and the other areas of the cemetery are decorated by American Legion Post #308. Visitors over the holiday are given a free commemorative pin and a chance to enter in a drawing for a white marble memory bench. The Broken Arrow Ledger has a great write-up on the History of the Avenue of Flags.
